Places to go. People to see.
It had to happen eventually: I finally trawled through my Internet Explorer favourites to come up with this vaguely categorised, curiously selected, bizarrely random collection of web links. Some, all or none of which may provide some light relief or interest.
Renault — And what in heaven’s name brought you to Casablanca?
Rick — My health; I came to Casablanca for the waters.
Renault — The waters? What waters? We’re in the desert.
Rick — I was misinformed.from ‘Casablanca’
But first, the links that didn’t really fit in anywhere else...
- Market Harborough
- My home town and place of birth. Famous for cats-eyes (the first place to get them, apparently) and Symington’s Liberty Bodice.
- Lubenham
- The village idyll of my childhood, which happens to have a very well-appointed website.
- Sawbridgeworth
- I live here, and so do the Beckhams... I mean, he even waved at me from his blue Ferrari once. Really.
- RhymeZone
- Handy for the odd spot of poetical writer’s block.
- WebElements
- Everything you ever wanted to know about the periodic table of elements.
- Streetmap
- Where do you want to go today?
- Ben & Jerry’s
- My one true vice. Which is a shame.
- Despair, Inc.
- Worryingly plausible anti-motivational merchandise.
- Escher Web Sketch
- Try your hand at creating some mathematically ordered pixels.
- Babylon 5 – The Lurker’s Guide
- If you’ve never heard of ‘Babylon 5’ then this is probably not the best place to start your education. (Also: Lucky you.)
- Engrish
- Not terribly PC to make fun of foreigners, is it? Amusing: yes; PC: no.
- LUGNET – Lego Users Group
- It’s Lego – nuff said.
- Burning Shed
- An ‘online on-demand CDR label and specialist CD store’ (I quote), run by an old friend of mine, a certain Peter Chilvers.
- Reverend Tackaberry
- What can one say of the erstwhile Reverend? His poetry says enough on its own, methinks.
