Go play!
This section is somewhere that I can handily put everything that doesn’t fit neatly anywhere else. These bits and pieces might keep you amused for a few minutes, but that’s probably about as much entertainment as you can expect.
The first diversion, jsMaze, is an interactive puzzle and was created simply as an exercise in web programming. My sister designed the maze, and I implemented it in JavaScript. The components were originally laid out in an old-style (and very cumbersome) HTML table; in the spirit of the times I have now remade it using slimmed-down XHTML/CSS code. Enjoy!
Second comes Gibber, another exercise in JavaScript programming that I put together a while ago. Perhaps I should have been a programmer all along, eh?
The final diversion is something else entirely – an example of my literary talents. Some friends organized a ‘gothic short story’ evening (how terribly Radio 4 of us!) to which each participant had to bring a piece of original fiction, and The Paper Menagerie was my contribution. Again I say ‘Enjoy!’, albeit with less enthusiasm than before.
The good ended happily, the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.
