News
A slightly anaemic looking page (for now) that may in time become more interesting... somehow even the word ‘news’ seems like a stretch right now.
- Perfectly Formed | 07/11/06
- Amelie, the daughter of Sharyn and Shawn from the hamlet of Bronxville, NY, now has her very own ambigram – let’s hope she likes it when she grows up!
- Lines in the Sand | 04/10/06
- This design wasn’t completely spontaneous, but this was my first and only attempt at drawing it and I think it came off rather well (if it had gone wrong I guess I could simply have waited for the tide to come in).
- Hope & Charity? | 16/08/06
- …I guess those are the two designs that should logically come next – I’ll have to work on that! I’ve not been meeting my once-per-month update schedule, but no matter. It’s quality, not quantity, after all.
- Triple Play | 28/06/06
- An alarming three new ambigrams added this month, which would be above average if not for the preceeding three-month gap, due to an internet outage at home and (let’s not kid ourselves) some mild indolence.
- The Answer... | 20/03/06
- Rather belatedly the site gets an update – apologies to any regular visitors! (By the way: it’s rather nice to think that there actually are regular visitors.) And it’s been another bumper month in terms of visits (or so says my stats package); indeed, I’ve nearly earned enough through Google AdSense for them to actually send me some money(!), which is exciting.
- Happy New Year! | 05/01/06
- Something from the archives, just to make up the numbers now that 2006 has arrived. On a personal note, last month’s visitor numbers managed to beat the previous record, which is nice. The question, though, is whether they are real people, and whether or not they like what they see. Who can know?
- Tis the Season | 29/11/05
- Since it’s now nearly December, even I have to concede that it really is nearly Christmas. So, in the spirit of the season, here’s an ambigram I designed last year and distributed on my own Christmas cards.
- I [Heart] Google | 31/10/05
- It’s now nearly November, so it’s time to add another design, and also gratifying to reflect on my increasing visitor numbers: over 10,000 in October, if my stats package is to be believed (and I’m not so sure that I do).
- Ambigram Maze | 31/07/05
- A world first in ambigrams! This is a maze made of ambigrams (well, one ambigram lots of times, at least) – can you discover how the maze works and just how many ‘mazes’ it takes to get through? Get your thinking caps on!
- Visit am.bigra.ms! | 08/06/05
- The internet has many wonders, including the succinct Montserrat top-level domain of ‘.ms’. Probably still easier to type in ambigrams.co.uk, but that’s not really the point.
- Coupling | 06/06/05
- Last year Dan & Ruth got married, and an ambigram was, of course, a requirement.
- Curiouser (etc.) | 08/05/05
- Am doing better than last month at least (the 8th rather than the 13th)!
- Unlucky for Some? | 13/04/05
- Rather belatedly, given that it’s already the 13th of April, but here is this month’s ambigram. I’ll try to be a little more timely come May!
- Now Open! | 26/03/05
- After years, almost, of thinking about it (and owning the URL) the doors of ambigrams.co.uk are now open! This website is a showcase of my own ambigram designs, some of which have already had air-time on my paragraphic.co.uk website, and I hope to add more, much more, soon.
My sister gave me a copy of Scott Kim’s book for Christmas 2002, a copy which she bought from the man himself in the US at the fifth ‘Gathering for Gardner’ (an elite maths and puzzle convention).
Scott was kind enough to inscribe the book for me with an individual, improvised inversion of my first name.
