ambigram (noun): A typographical design or artform that may be read as one or more words, not only as presented, but also from another viewpoint, direction or orientation.
A very simple, but rather jolly rotational ambigram. The fat, cartoon-style letterforms evolved out of the need to turn the i into the a, a feat made easier by the use of a thick vertical stroke and large serifs. By adding similar serifs to the s I was able to create a more coherent design.
The only weakness here is my ongoing inability to draw balanced, elegant curves (the s is a bit lopsided in my view) — however, each successive inversion that needs rounded glyphs means that I do get a little better! There is, it seems (and if you‘ll excuse the pun), a real learning curve...
