Faith

A simple word and an attractive, ‘swoopy’ design. Not sure what inspired this design, but I found a simple sketch of it in my notebook and thought it was a good candidate for a website update. I settled on these more loose letterforms after starting out with simple linear shapes.

It seems like a good idea to start simple and establish a clear design, and only then develop it into something more expressive. If a design works using simple, even, linear strokes (like Forty Two, for instance) then it’s much more likely to work using more varied letterforms. On the other hand, if you can’t make it work simply, you’re probably fighting a losing battle!
