Becca & Dave

Patchwork ambigrams

Here I have created two related patchwork ambigrams of the two names Becca and Dave.

Each ambigram can tessellate together in an infinitely repeating pattern, with each name appearing in four intersecting orientations in each patchwork. For instance, in Becca the b becomes the first c, and the second c becomes the a. Indeed, the b and a glyphs are near mirror images of each other; only the e is read in just one orientation.

In Dave, which was much the easier of the two ambigrams to create, the letters fall into two easy pairs: d becomes a, v becomes e. Indeed, the two glyphs are almost the same: only the position of the short interior bar distinguishes them.
