ambigram (noun): A typographical design or artform that may be read as one or more words, not only as presented, but also from another viewpoint, direction or orientation.
I am often asked the same two questions, so before emailing me (and I would love to hear from any ambigram fan!) have a look a the following Q&A, since it may help to avoid disappointment.
Can I commission you to create an ambigram for me?
The short answer is NO! Creating ambigrams is a time-consuming process, and because of this I do not usually accept commissions. I would not like to accept a commission and agree a fee unless I could be sure that the finished design would be professional enough. Many requests have taken the form: Could I create an ambigram of a particular name or word in the style of one of my existing designs? For me each ambigram is a new challenge, and its solution will largely determine the style of the lettering that is appropriate. It can therefore be difficult to meet an individual’s expectations, and I would not want to take on a commission and not be able to complete it satisfactorily.
Can you provide advice on my own ambigram designs?
The short answer is YES! I always love to hear from other designers, so even if you are working on your very first ambigram and want some help please get in touch. If you can include a sketch of your design in your email then I will be very happy to have a look at it and answer any questions.
So, if you have any questions or comments about my designs please
